Community CPR training only helps public arrests
Difference-in-differences evaluation of a year-long community hands-only CPR training initiative across 20,414 OHCAs — overall bystander CPR rates rose from 37.4% to 42.5% but the adjusted intervention effect wasn't significant (+2.94 pp, 95% CI −0.95 to 6.83); only public-location arrests showed a significant increase (+8.59 pp), with no effect at home and no detectable survival or neurological benefit.

Intra-arrest TOE feasible but no survival gain
Scoping review of 22 studies (1,254 patients, 84% OHCA) mapping intra-arrest transoesophageal echocardiography — insertion succeeded in 80–100% of cases and TEE changed management in 31–48% of patients, but the two randomised trials found no difference in ROSC, survival, or favourable neurological outcome versus conventional CPR.

Prehospital cricothyroidotomy: rare but often successful
Nationwide Danish cohort of all 71 prehospital emergency cricothyroidotomies over 2016–2023 — overall procedural success 87.3% (83.3% in OHCA), aspiration and oropharyngeal bleeding the commonest indications, but the procedure was rare (0.12% of 39,885 OHCAs) and OHCA outcomes were poor (ROSC 25%, 30-day survival 4.5%, 1-year survival 2.3%).

ED ultrasound archiving works in Australia
Four-year implementation study of a middleware ED ultrasound archiving and QA workflow at Nepean Hospital — 7,281 studies archived across 15 modalities with zero data loss or failures, automated trainee logbooks saving each trainee ~2 h/week, and clinician time (not software) the dominant recurring cost.
